What is Gasp?
Gasp is a cross-chain decentralized exchange (DEX) and protocol designed for seamless crypto asset exchanges between various blockchains, including Ethereum Layer 2s, rollups, Solana, Bitcoin, and web3 gaming ecosystems. Gasp provides a high-speed, gas-free, and secure platform for both enterprise and retail users, offering cross-chain communication that scales efficiently while maintaining liquidity for smooth swaps. It addresses the limitations of traditional cross-rollup bridges, such as trust issues and reliance on wrapped tokens, by utilizing EigenLayer's restaked security, ensuring censorship resistance and self-custody for users.
Gasp operates as a restaking AVS on EigenLayer, which allows Ethereum validators to restake their ETH to secure Gasp's cross-chain transaction ecosystem. By leveraging EigenLayer’s crypto-economic security, Gasp ensures transaction finality and provides a more reliable, trustless solution for cross-chain swaps. Validators participating in restaking are incentivized through the GASP token, which also governs transaction throughput, enabling more scalable and efficient cross-chain liquidity.
