Hello Polkadot: DIA Begins Cross-Chain Integration

We are delighted to announce that DIA will integrate with the Polkadot ecosystem. DIA’s trustable data and Oracle infrastructure will add to the growing number of use cases of DeFi applications in the efficiency-geared Polkadot network.

Hello Polkadot: DIA Begins Cross-Chain Integration

About Polkadot

Polkadot, the project born out of a need for more efficiency and scalability in blockchain, aims to solve many of the issues that have so far held back implementation of Web3 technology on a massive scale. Most notably, it addresses connection between blockchains, scalability, and strong network security from day one for new parachains, along with governance, and developer experience. The project was founded in 2016 by Gavin Wood, the co-founder and former CTO of Ethereum and creator of the Solidity programming language. As the Polkadot ecosystem is quickly gaining maturity and adoption, it is setting itself up as the go-to protocol for the DeFi ecosystem.

DIA integrates it's oracles into the Polkadot ecosystem

DIA has begun the integration into the Polkadot/Substrate ecosystem, marking the first move to bring DIA oracles to the protocol’s overarching DeFi ecosystem and bring an open-source and transparent data infrastructure to Substrate-based DeFi applications.

As a first step, DIA will begin with the provision of its data feeds. To achieve this, DIA will provide an off-chain worker, which allows any Polkadot-based parachain or actors that run a node to directly access DIA data feeds instead of having to build the logic into their own parachains. The off-chain worker is a module in the node that connects to Polkadot and can pull data from a DIA API and send it on-chain to the network. The off-chain worker is extremely portable and can be integrated parachain agnostic, removing the need to pull data from a variety of sources.

Through the availability of DIA feeds, any project developing dApps on Substrate will be fuelled with transparent, crowd verified data. Use cases can encompass a wide range of examples, such as prediction markets, lending and borrowing dApps, derivatives trading platforms and many more. Further details on DIA’s integration into the Polkadot ecosystem will be shared soon.
