Hello Neon Network: DIA’s Oracles Live on Neon Testnet

DIA oracles are now integrated with Neon Network’s testnet, bringing 20.000+ token and NFT price feeds to the EVM solution on Solana.

Hello Neon Network: DIA’s Oracles Live on Neon Testnet

Introducing Neon

Neon is a software environment on Solana that acts as a gateway for Ethereum-based applications to access the scalability and liquidity of Solana without changing its codebase. As Neon offers full Ethereum Virtual Machine — EVM compatibility, it enables Ethereum native developers to use known tools and resources while benefiting from Solana’s ability to process transactions quickly and from its lower fees.

The speed, security, and low gas fees of Solana combined with the EVM support create an attractive combination for the Neon network, which currently supports throughput of a tested 2.000+ TPS and gas around 0.000015 SOL / tx.

Neon put a lot of effort into making sure that the EVM is as easy to use as possible. Users are able to connect to Neon with wallets supporting custom RPC APIs, providing an Ethereum-like user experience. Existing dApps on Ethereum are able to launch on Neon without changes done to their codebase, making it the only EVM that allows the deployment of Ethereum dApps on Solana’s ecosystem.

Bringing DIA’s Data Library to Neon

We are delighted to announce that DIA has integrated its open-source oracle infrastructure with the testnet network of Neon. This new update enables developers on Neon to begin building and testing a wide variety of DeFi and NFTfi applications reliant on high-quality, transparent and crowd-sourced price data feeds. Mainnet integration will follow as soon as it goes live — expected to happen on 12.12.2022.

Thanks to Neon Network’s EVM compatibility, Ethereum native applications can be easily migrated to the Solana ecosystem with no changes in code, where DIA will be able to feed them with accurate and transparent market data. This will allow DIA to power dApps on Neon EVM with a number of DeFi use cases including stablecoins, staking, yield aggregators, as well as NFTfi use cases.

“Neon EVM unites the best of two worlds: Ethereum and Solana, and puts to rest the Ethereum killer narrative once and for all. Ethereum-based projects can, for the first time, tap into the previously inaccessible audience and liquidity of Solana without needing to rewrite their code in Rust. As a result, users will now get to enjoy enhanced user experiences on Solana without losing out on Ethereum’s battle-tested dApps.”

How Does DIA Work?

With DIA’s data and oracle infrastructure deployment, dApps on Neon Network’s EVM-compatible ecosystem will have access to price feeds of 3k+ digital assets and 18k+ NFT collections as well as a range of lending rates, FX rates, and other data feeds. This will enable Neon Network to support a wider range of applications beyond DeFi and NFTfi.

Since DIA doesn’t rely on outside data suppliers, its proprietary open-source oracle infrastructure sets it apart from other Web3 data solutions. DIA crowdsources trade data at a very granular level straight from off-chain and on-chain sources in order to create price oracles.

For every dApp and use case, DIA’s architecture enables the construction of custom token and NFT price feeds that are entirely customizable in terms of pricing methodologies, data sources, and other factors such as oracle update mechanism, frequency and more. With this strategy, DIA is able to meet any unique data and asset requirements a project may have while also giving users complete transparency about how the data feeds are made.

“We are excited to see an EVM-based Layer-2 scaling solution build on Solana. Their effort to make Neon compatible with Ethereum certainly is an exciting vision, and we are thrilled to see DIA help their network flourish. With the security and speed of Solana, together with the low cost of Neon, we could see a great inflow of new apps and users, and we would be more than happy to kickstart their development on the Neon network.”
