savUSD wraps avUSD and is issued by Avant Protocol.
savUSD is the staked version of avUSD, the dollar token of Avant Protocol. A holder who stakes avUSD on Avalanche receives savUSD. avUSD itself earns no yield, and savUSD is where the yield goes. savUSD is an ERC-4626 vault token: the vault states how much avUSD one share converts to. On 5 November 2026 one savUSD converted to 1.214 avUSD.
Avant's docs call savUSD the senior tranche of the USD suite. The junior tranche, avUSDx, absorbs strategy losses first in exchange for a larger share of the yield.
Avant lists savUSD contracts on Avalanche, where the vault sits, and on Base, Berachain, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Katana, Linea, MegaETH, Monad, Movement, Plasma, Sei and Stellar.

72.9M savUSD in circulation across 11 chains, 10 of them holding supply bridged from Avalanche. Monad carries 26.5%. 2 more chains DIA reads hold none.
The contracts on the chains listed report 127.6M savUSD in total, before bridged supply is counted once.
Monad, Ethereum, Base, Sei, Berachain, Movement, Plasma, Linea, Stellar, BSC hold bridged supply: each token there is backed by Avalanche supply, or by a custodian holding it. The total counts each token once, so bridged supply shows on the chain that holds it, marked “bridged from” its source, and comes off the source chain's row.
Katana, MegaETH read 0 bridged tokens, so they are not in the total.
Katana, MegaETH returned a totalSupply of exactly 0 when read. That is the contract's own answer, not a read DIA failed to make.

savUSD wraps avUSD; its backing is the avUSD it holds.
Each savUSD share is a claim on avUSD held in the savUSD vault on Avalanche. On 5 November 2026 the vault held 89.7 million avUSD against 73.9 million savUSD shares.
Yield is calculated weekly, in an epoch that starts each Thursday, and paid into the vault in daily portions. Each payment raises the avUSD value of a share. The avUSD behind savUSD is backed by USDC that Avant deploys into market-neutral strategies, as described on the avUSD page.
savUSD on chains other than Avalanche is bridged. The bridges lock shares on Avalanche and mint the same number on the other chain. DIA counts savUSD once, on Avalanche, and shows the other chains separately.

Who licenses savUSD's issuer and how its reserves are reported.
Unstaking savUSD back to avUSD takes 24 hours, and the avUSD earns no yield during the wait. A loss in Avant's strategies is absorbed first by the Reserve Fund and the avUSDx junior tranche. Only after those would it reach savUSD holders. savUSD is not designed to trade at US$1.00: its price follows the avUSD value of a share, and the USD value of a share moves with the price of avUSD.
